Is it true that static and old-fashioned email marketing is dead and might not be enough to grab your audience attention?

Do you think people who do not respond to your email messages are not reading your emails anymore or they are just lying there in their spam/junk folder?

More than 95% of your target audience will respond to emails more than any other form of marketing communication, hence, we don’t know anything as important as email marketing in 2018.

Marketing is only effective when it happens both ways, thus making emails the top most mode of direct marketing. Here some trends I found interesting that add value to customers through email marketing communication that’s sure at a certain level maximize your chances of making a sale.

Interactive emailers like myself enjoy delighting customers by sending them an email that’s not only engaging, catching their attention – but provides value to a customer.

Here some trends I found interesting that add value to customers through email marketing communication that’s sure at a certain level maximize your chances of making a sale.

Conversation tones

Your email content shows your conversational tone, you may use friendly conversational tone in most emails which helps the audience connect and interact with you. Whereas you may use a formal tone for B2B marketing emails.

Personalization

Here we are not talking about the out-dated use of ‘Dear first name’, but personalisation to an extent where the customer feels connected and valued. It would be recommended if you are able to suggest them products based on their purchase history, or recent research, and be able to send them birthday discount codes.  This will ensure further customer engagement.

Mailable Microsites

A mailable microsite is an interactive email where you can navigate to other pages within the email without going to a separate landing page. You can search within email, emails can be dynamic with features like countdown, survey forms and videos.

Segmentation

Another important trend to follow is segmentation which allows you to send appropriate emails to different audience. Your customers know that you send emails in bulk daily, but they also need to know that the content is of use to them. You can use various software to segment your audience and send separate emails accordingly.

Optimising email for mobiles

We live in a mobile first world, where it is convenient to check emails on mobile and people are not happy waiting for the content to load. You can ensure that your emails are optimised to view on mobiles.

You must remember that your email messages need to add value to the customer’s lives; spam does not give any returns. With the above trends, static and old-fashioned emails will no more be enough to catch your customer’s attention, and the only way forward is to create engaging and interactive emailers.
